TeXstudio window focus changes are not working

Affected version

Provide at least the following information:

• Debian 12
• Mutter 43.6
• According to xwinfo, TeXstudio is running in Wayland

Bug summary

• Click build and view or pressing F5 should compile and the switch focus to the viewer window.
• CTRL - left-click should move cursor to position in text and bring editor window into focus.

Neither case works as they are expected to

• Click build and view or press F5
• CTRL - left click

What happened

Window focus stays with current window

What did you expect to happen

Window focus should change either i) from previewer to editor or ii) from editor to previewer.

Relevant logs, screenshots, screencasts etc.

I filed a bug report with TeXstudio but they judged it to be a qt/gnome issue.
