Last update of mutter possibly has regression for USB-C DispalyLink+evdi single screen mode
Could you please share the information about downgrading packages? When I execute cat /var/log/apt/history.log
I can see that there was update like this libegl1-mesa:amd64 (22.0.1-1ubuntu1, 22.0.1-1ubuntu2)
But when I execute apt policy libegl1-mesa
I get
libegl1-mesa:
Installed: 22.0.1-1ubuntu2
Candidate: 22.0.1-1ubuntu2
Version table:
*** 22.0.1-1ubuntu2 500
500 http://vn.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu jammy/universe amd64 Packages
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
So the question is how to get 22.0.1-1ubuntu1?
I think that problem is in mutter because it is the only thing that is not in KDE, but kwin doesn't work nice with USB-C screens because in mutter as I heard there were some optimizations to support evdi and DisplayLink on GNOME DE.
I want to provide more details but without rollback to the old option it is hard to be sure.
Affected version
- Ubuntu 22.04 Beta
- mutter 42.0
echo $XDG_SESSION_TYPE
x11
/usr/bin/gnome-shell --wayland --display-server
15:02:24.199: Running GNOME Shell (using mutter 42.0) as a Wayland display server
Failed to setup: Could not take control: GDBus.Error:System.Error.EBUSY: Device o
So I am confused
