GNOME Shell 42 crashes with radeon on startup

Affected version

• Fedora Silverblue 36 beta (36.20220401.n.0)
• gnome-shell-42.0-2.fc36.x86_64, mutter-42.0-2.fc36.x86_64, mesa-dri-drivers-21.3.8-2.fc36.x86_64, kernel-5.17.1-300.fc36.x86_64
• Currently using Wayland, but XOrg is likely affected too.
• radeon kernel driver and radeonsi Mesa

This seems quite similar to #1827 (closed) from a few months ago (it stays with the blinking cursor and GNOME Shell crashes with similar error messages). I found Ubuntu's https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1966808 too which looks similar and applies to GNOME 42. Adding MUTTER_DEBUG_USE_KMS_MODIFIERS=0 to /etc/environment makes it boot fine.

• Crash dumps with useful visible debuginfo (only mutter)

The bug report is short because apart from "it crashes", there's not much else to be said, apart from the close symptoms from the other linked issue. Please let me know if any other information is needed, or if there's an RPM I can test to see if it fixes the issue.
