Black Border around Screen Capture Window
Affected version
- NixOS unstable
- GNOME 41.2
- Wayland
Bug summary
When capturing a non-maximized non-fullscreen Wayland window there is a black border around the window. This is presumably due to an attempt to share the window shadow with no transparency.
Steps to reproduce
- Use GNOME Wayland.
- Start a screen capture using PipeWire.
What happened
The solution is likely to:
- Properly configure transparency.
- Not include the shadow in the capture.
1 is probably sufficient but I suspect that it is probably better overall to skip the shadow. If the recieving application wants a shadow they can handle it themselves.
What did you expect to happen
The capture doesn't have a border.
