transparent/corrupted 3D view

Bug summary
Some 3D surfaces are rendered completely transparent exposing the background and/or show glitches in the area where the 3D view is supposed to be.
Steps to reproduce
- install MeshLab from flathub:
flatpak install net.meshlab.MeshLab
- run MeshLab (via X11):
flatpak run net.meshlab.MeshLab
- verify that the window is shown correctly without glitches
- enable the wayland socket:
sudo flatpak override net.meshlab.MeshLab --socket=wayland
- run MeshLab (now via Wayland) again:
flatpak run net.meshlab.MeshLab
What happened
The area that shows the 3D view is corrupted:
The screenshot: shows that this 3D area with glitches is interpreted as transparent surface. This is better visible in a proper image viewer, such as eog.
What did you expect to happen
This used to work on older mutter versions (3.36) and does work on weston:
