Frequent visual freezes in GNOME Terminal
In GNOME Shell 3.38 (using X11), a maximized gnome-terminal window will frequently stop updating. (It still takes input and forwards to the tty, but the screen is frozen. The text cursor will also stop blinking, and the mouse pointer won't appear when moved.) Maximized windows freeze very often, small windows almost never do.
In my case it frequently freezes when editing a file in NVim (sometimes several times a minute), but also happens in plain Bash, mtr, tig, as well as other programs. It will usually recover if I switch terminal tabs using hotkeys (although not 100% of the time – rapidly switching tabs is one way to make it hang as well).
This occurs with both gnome-terminal 3.38.x and 3.36.x, as well as vte3 0.62.x and 0.60.x, and I believe I've had the same happen with LibreOffice.
