Shell does not find external monitors (Xorg and Wayland)
- does not detect all connected monitors,
- does not list all available resolutions for detected monitors and
- even when monitors are manually activated with xrandr, it "ignores" them.
It can't be made better with any graphical tool (actually first monitor is not detected at all, it is shown here just because I did not want to log out before taking the screenshot.
While under Xorg I can partially work around this with
xrandr --addmode HDMI-1-1 1920x1080 xrandr --addmode DVI-1-1 1440x900 xrandr --output DVI-0 --mode 1440x900 --right-of HDMI-0 xrandr --output HDMI-1-1 --mode 1920x1080 --rate 60 --left-of HDMI-0
(but neverthless it is not a complete solution because of the following layout bug), I do not know in any way how to force wayland mutter to do things.
Of course overview brings maximum despair when activated.
