keyboard delay/repetition rate changed after upgrading 3.36.0 -> 3.36.1 and cannot be modified
Affected version
- Manjaro 19.02 Gnome
- GNOME Shell 3.36.1
- Xorg
Bug summary
After upgrading from Gnome 3.36.0 to 3.36.1 (X11, on Manjaro Gnome), the delay/repetition rate of the keyboard are messed up. By pressing the up/down/left/right arrow keys, the scroll is way too fast, and keeping pressed the backspace for just a little while results in deleting two lines of text, instead of a few characters.
I tried to set the delay/repetition rates as follows (I tried different values):
$ xset r rate 500 25
$ sudo kbdrate -d 500 -r 25
and I also set the values with the dconf editor (graphical interface) but nothing produces noticeable effects.
Steps to reproduce
Upgrade from 3.36.0 to 3.36.1
What happened
Delay/repetition rate of the keyboard have changed and they now have unreasonable values, which apparently cannot be modified
What did you expect to happen
Delay/repetition rates of keyboard would be unchanged after upgrading
