click position is flipped to cursor position when in tent mode

several versions affected, including GNOME Shell 3.34.1
last version of ubuntu known NOT to be affected was 17.10. Every ubuntu version since then is affected
Bug summary
after I log in in tent mode the screen goes upside down, and after
xrandr --output eDP-1 --rotate normal
it goes back to normal however now the cursor is upside down, and click position and cursor position isnt the same, they are flipped

Steps to reproduce
- install Ubuntu 19.10 or Ubuntu 20.04 on your HP Spectre x360 convertible machine
- reboot into your newly installed ubuntu
- log in
- now the screen should be upside down
- ctrl+alt+t
- xrandr --output eDP-1 --rotate normal
- try to use the mouse and/or touchscreen
What happened
click position and mouse position does not coincide with the displayed mouse cursor position

mouse and touchscreen to work normally
