Notification "Folders have no differences" resizes window vertically (maybe only on dual screen)
I'm using meld 3.20.3-1 on Arch Linux with XFCE desktop.
I have two screens with different resolutions: left is 1920x1200, right is 3440x1440.
My meld window size is a bit smaller than the smaller screen, so I can open it on any screen and it always fits. When I need more size, I open it on the bigger one (or drag it there) and maximize it. Before closing, I always un-maximize meld to make it store "my size".
I'm not sure if the issue only occurs on a dual screen system with different resolutions.
This issue is related to comparing folder structures only. When there are differences and therefore the notification is not shown, meld opens in the same size I last closed it. This is as expected.
But when the folders are identical, meld shows the notification "Folders have no differences" and this is what also happens:
- The window height is almost as big as the larger screen, regardless on which screen I open it.
This means that the window's bottom area is outside the visible area when opened on the small screen. - Resizing is blocked until I hide the notification.
- On hiding the notification, the window height is not changed back.
- The resulting window height is always the same, regardless of the size I give the window after hiding the notification and before closing.
- The width is not changed.
- It makes no difference if I hide the notification before closing meld.
It's as if meld has stored two sizes ... one without and one with the notification. On the other hand ... because only the height changes, this would be very weird.
