meld --help prints nothing on Windows 10, Meld version 3.20.2

On Window 10, Meld version 3.20.2

At the command line if I type meld, then meld starts up. If I type meld --help, then nothing is printed. This is quite unhelpful because the website's help says for command usage refer to meld --help.

I hasve been trying to google a snap shot output of what meld --help looks like but can't find anything. Im hoping theres some option to disable something to make it start up faster. Apparently it scans a whole bunch of things, not just the two files you wish to compare. On some other threads they say only the first start up is slow, but the problem when do $ git difftool, then it only opens the next comparison after you close the previous, so you can enjoy the slow start up on every diff.
