Option to ignore symlinks

I would like to suggest an option in Meld to ignore symlinks. As an example, I have a project where there is a symlink at the root of the project pointing to a directory a level deeper. Meld ends up showing almost twice as many items because of this. It would make things less cluttered, and have less chance of duplication of work this way.

Not expecting to see this as a default (I think that would be an incorrect behavior), but rather as a command-line switch and/or a view switch/toggle within the Meld UI itself.
