meld spend too many time compare with binary files and then the system dead...

I use meld 3.18.2 and ubuntu18.10
sometimes we have to compare with binary files
try this command:
widon@widon-A555YI:~$ meld /usr/bin/mpv /usr/bin/zip
it take me about 1min to get bad result and the cpu remain 100% usage, at the end I must kill meld to recover from system dead...

I suggest the maintainer see the result of the bcompare for linux
widon@widon-A555YI:~$ bcompare /usr/bin/mpv /usr/bin/zip
it take me 3 seconds to get nice result

I think meld can learn from bcompare to make meld better.
