Some photos are unviewable on PinePhone

I have a whole folder of photos that are perfectly viewable in Loupe on my desktop, yet those same photos are unviewable on my PinePhone. The Loupe running on the PinePhone works perfectly fine with other photos, but just shows a blank background in the image viewpoint for these photos, with what seems to be a very thin grid of the actual photo underneath.
