Gvfs is crashing and making other applications become unresponsive
Firefox and Thunar (possibly others) will sometimes become unresponsive. Doing a killall gvfsd
will immediately recover all frozen applications, which is why I'm now writing this bug report against Gvfs.
This is the bug report I've filed downstream: https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/67088. I'm running Arch Linux with Gvfs 1.44.1-4.
What I was doing when it happened:
- Thunar file manager became unresponsive while I was interacting with it.
- Firefox became unresponsive while trying to open the "Save as" dialog.
Killing gvfsd
is the only way to recover. Killing the frozen applications doesn't work. They will reopen, but they will also continue to be unresponsive.
Journald logs obtained right after the problem began: journalctl.txt
