TextView Text Doesn't Always Wrap
Steps to reproduce
- Specify to wrap text within a
TextView
by char or word. - Consistently stream lines of text to that text view which contains lines that exceed the width of the view.
- Note how the window will continuously resize the width to accommodate large lines, ever so gradually, and will continue to increase in size well beyond the width of the display if text continues to be larger than the view.
Current behavior
Essentially, word-wrapping is only partially effective. It will wrap the text sometimes, and in other times only to a certain extent after increasing the width of the view. This will repeat while streaming text to the view, until eventually the window is long as the longest line of text.
Issue has been experienced within our distribution installer, which is increasingly becoming a problem for the logs that are streamed to the view. I'm currently forced to wrap text by hand as the only effective solution to keep the window from expanding.
Expected outcome
Text should resize by word or character when specified to be resized, without resizing the width of the window.
