auto-started gtk4 app cannot resize window in GNOME on Xorg
This is an interesting problem, from my point of view. I have an up-to-date to-be Fedora 40 machine with:
gtk4-4.13.9-1.fc40.x86_64
gnome-software-46.0-1.fc40.x86_64
When I set "GNOME on Xorg" in login and then restart the machine (it's required to restart when switching from Wayland to Xorg) and log in for that user, then running the gnome-software either from terminal or from the Applications (it only shows a window of the already started app), the window cannot be resized by mouse. It can be maximized by double-clicking the header bar, but not by dragging the window edge.
When I run from a terminal gnome-software --quit
and then start it again, either from the terminal or from the Applications, the window can be properly resized.
I cannot reproduce it under Wayland.
I noticed a glitch, the round edge of the window is not transparent when this misbehavior happens:
The image also illustrates how hard it is to recognize where the window edge ends, because, well, there is no visual window edge now (libadwaita-1.5~beta-1.fc40.x86_64
, if it matters), but it's only a side note. This bug is about something else.
