Focus behavior and indication
With the recent theming refactor of focus outlines, we need to tackle the elephant in the room, having a random element of a UI stuck with keyboard focus.
Why
Why do we have focus rings? Outlines appear around activatable elements to aid with keyboard input. They signify that pushing enter or spacebar activates the element. They used to be very subtle for most elements and weren't such an eye sore to remain prelit all the time. But they were so subtle that you could barely see them.
Because they are keyboard related, they theoretically should only appear when you explicitly started navigating with keyboard (currently it's tab and cursor keys).
Exception 1
Entries are special as you are most definitely going to use the keyboard to type in some string so they get hightlighted even when using the mouse.
Exception 2
Text views don't as they are usually the main element.
OCD cleanup
Even if we take precaution and only activate controls when using the keyboard, we need to be able to get to a "clean" state where no element is highlighted. Two approaches come to mind.
Timers
Visually the focus rings would fade out after a while of inactivity. However this seems to require a rather complex model decoupling visible focus from actual focus to be able to continue navigaton.
Whitespace
Some non interactive elements can act as "focus losers". Clicking on empty space would lose the active element focus.
