Font style is ignored, when using custom font for interface text
Steps to reproduce
- Chose a font for interface (in GNOME Tweaks), that contains some other style, than Regular (e.g. Bold or Italic). For example "Cantarell Italic". Alternatively it can be reproduced by changing font via dconf.
- Open GTK application and look at the interface font
Current behavior
Interface font is using Regular style (e.g. fonts are not Bold or Italic).
Expected outcome
Interface should use style for interface text (like it does in GTK2 apps, e.g. GIMP). Therefore applications should use Italic, or Bold, or other style for the interface font (Medium, Semi-bold, etc)
Version information
GTK 3.24.13
Distribution: Fedora, but it can be any
Additional information
GTK3 apps are not using Italic style:
GTK2 apps are using Italic for interface (ignore the glitches):
