gtkfilechooser usability problem

Current behavior
Had to change my friend's computer from GNOME to KDE because he uploads images to web-pages and has hundreds of images in several folders. It takes too long to search for one specific image from amongst others in the currently used scheme where one can only see a preview of one image per time in the gtkfilechooser
Expected outcome
Please add an option to list all images in a folder as thumbnails. For example a 'switch to thumbnail view' button and a slider to change the size of all thumbnails in the selected folder - this 'feature' request comes from a person that uses his computer daily and just needs to get the job done.
Version information
- Gnome 3.x
- Linux, kernel 4.x
- Mint 19
