GParted does not shrinking PVs below actual physical size, so not at all
Because of this patch to lvm2's pvresize, GParted no longer supports shrinking PVs below the actual physical size: https://sourceware.org/git/?p=lvm2.git;a=commit;h=cbc69f8c693edf0d1307c9447e2e66d07a04bfe9
This means shrinking is not possible at all, because a PV cannot be of a different size than the physical size.
The following questions are now asked by pvresize:
- "%s: Requested size %s exceeds real size %s. Proceed? [y/n]: "
- "%s: Requested size %s is less than real size %s. Proceed? [y/n]: "
The 1. question should probably the handled as an error and answered with "n", but the 2. question is currently also answered with "n" instead of "y".
Therefore GParted cannot proceed with shrinking a PV. Please investigate, thanks a lot.
