@SYNTAX=DATE (year,month,day)
@DESCRIPTION=DATE returns the number of days since the 1st of january of 1900(the date serial number) for the given year, month and day.
The @day might be negative (to count backwards) and it is relative to the previous @month. The @years should be at least 1900. If @years <= 30, it is assumed to be 2000 + @years. If 30 < @years < 100, it is assumed to be 1900 + @years.
If the given date is not valid, DATE returns #VALUE! error.
This function is Excel compatible.
If @month < 1 or @month > 12, the year will be corrected. A similar correction takes place for days.
The @years should be at least 1900. If @years < 1900, it is assumed to be 1900 + @years.

.SH SYNOPSIS
\fBgnumeric\fR [\fIOPTIONS\fR]
\fBgnumeric\fR [\fIOPTIONS\fR] [\fIfiles\fR \fI...\fR ]
.SH DESCRIPTION
\fBgnumeric\fR is a powerful and easy to use spreadsheet program from the GNOME
project. Its goal is to compete with the commercial offerings; users of Excel
should be already familiar with \fBgnumeric\fR's advanced features. A plugin system
lets you extend \fBgnumeric\fR with GPL extensions, and optional Python, Guile, and
Perl plugins let you define complex functions in those popular languages.
\fBgnumeric\fR will import your existing Excel, 1-2-3, Applix, Sylk, XBase and
Oleo files and can export to LaTeX and HTML as well.
.SH USAGE
\fBgnumeric\fR is documented in great detail by \fIGnumeric's user manual\fR
(see below).
\fBgnumeric\fR is a powerful spreadsheet program created by the GNOME
project. \fBgnumeric\fR intends to compete with commercial spreadsheets
by becoming fully compatible with Microsoft Excel and through the support
of most popular spreadsheet file formats such as Excel, Lotus 1-2-3, Applix,
Sylk, XBase and Oleo formats.
\fBgnumeric\fR supports advanced calculations using statistical, financial
and database access functions. Plotting data is supported through an
interface to the \fBGuppi\fR plotting program. A plugin system extends
\fBgnumeric\fR to enable the use the Python, Guile, or Perl programing
languages and to enable the export of data to the LaTeX \\longtable format.
The program can be started from the command line as \fBgnumeric\fR or from one
of the menus provided by underlying platform. When started on the command
line, \fBgnumeric\fR may be followed by the options listed below and possibly
the names of \fBgnumeric\fR compressed XML format files which will then be
opened immediately.
.SH OPTIONS
This program follows the usual GNU command line syntax, with long options
starting with two dashes (`--'). A summary of the options supported by
\fBgnumeric\fR is included below.
