	* *.c : remove a pile of deprecated glib functions.

	* src/xml-io.c (xml_probe) : fix test for extension .xml.gz  We only
	  check the last extension.  So foo.xml.gz has extension .gz.
	  Don't rip out quite so much of the sax handler.
