UI: cells out of screen causing delays?

I - mean to - have pinned down a little UI issue:

sometimes gnumeric freezes / hangs / becomes laggy with 1 to more seconds reaction delay on cursor movements, page down and up, mouse scrolling etc. frequently observed when the window running gnumeric is 'part-screen', and placed with some cells below the bottom border of the display, 'outside the screen', less often also happening when some cells are outside to the right. random but often, gnumeric doesn't react to moves in the sheet, switching windows helps out for some time, menues seem not affected. Lenovo P70, nvidia M4000M graphics, intern 4k screen, kali (debian based) linux, gnome desktop, gnumeric 1.12.52 as well as ~51. test: open attached file fullscreen, move around with the cursor and see no delays, shrink the window to part-screen, place in bottom right corner with rows > 29 and cols > H outside the screen, observe delays in reaction to cursor keys and mouse, switch to other windows and back when frozen and see working for some keystrokes again. replace window to 'fully on the screen', observe delays gone. might be special issue of my config, recheck needed.

Best Regards,

b.
