fail to force setting format for group of cells

I'm using app-office/gnumeric-1.8.4-r1 on Gentoo Linux.

The problem is about displaying and setting the format for selected group of cells: If the initial case, where all cells has the same format, works fine.

The bug appears when I select several different way formatted cells. I'll show it on example height formatting. If selected some different formatted cells I always (not depending on format of each of selected cells) see that cells are fromatted by middle (even if selected two cells, one of which is formatted by top and another by bottom). It looks not like a problem. But when I try to force setting some value (for example 'top') for in my example two selected cells, the action fails. And it is the problem.

Excuse me for mistakes in English: I use the Russian localized version.
