It's my understanding that the previous integration has been dropped, and that we should replace the page with a reference to Brasero. Probably it's best to keep the page and replace its contents with a short reference to Brasero, but there may be aspects of this I haven't thought of.https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-user-docs/-/issues/60Update Lock Screen info for 3.362020-04-18T15:35:55ZAndre KlapperUpdate Lock Screen info for 3.36* shell-introduction.page needs updates (can also switch user in the bottom right corner)

and/or
https://help.gnome.org/users/gnome-help/stable/shell-keyboard-shortcuts.html.en
(Side note: maybe consider merging those two pages? Keyboard shortcuts, keyboard navigation, kinda the same thing)
Anyway: with Gnome 45, Super+←and Super+→
no longer merely "Maximize a window vertically along the [right/left] side of the screen", as the keyboard nav page says.
They do that, but they also do this thing where they bring up the task switcher (akin to Super-Tab) in the other half of the window, and then seemingly whatever you choose becomes "bound" to the first window, so they are always kept together. Unless you press escape.
At least I think that's what I infer is happening, but I can't find any docs on it. The keyboard shortcuts / navigation pages are the main places I'd expect to find it. Either that or the release notes, but I don't see info on this behavior there either.https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-user-docs/-/issues/248Shell notifications has an unclear explanation of Do Not Disturb2024-02-09T21:22:20ZDylan McCallShell notifications has an unclear explanation of Do Not DisturbIn [gnome-help/C/shell-notifications.page](https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-user-docs/-/blob/gnome-44/gnome-help/C/shell-notifications.page), the documentation explains how to hide notifications. At the moment, it incorrectly says, as an alternative to using the Do Not Disturb switch in the Shell UI, to open Settings / Notifications, and…
> 4. Switch `Do Not Disturb` to off.
Instead, it should say to switch Do Not Disturb to _on_.
In addition, I find the following explanation of the behaviour difficult to parse:
> When switched off, most notifications will not pop up at the top of the screen. Notifications will still be available in the notification list when you display it (by clicking on the clock, or by pressing Super+V), and they will start popping up again when you switch the switch back to on.
There are a few problems here:
- The phrase "when switched off" is unclear given that the last several paragraphs have been devoted to an alternative method of switching Do Not Disturb to _on_.
- This is exacerbated because "most notifications will not pop up" is a vague statement.
- Finally, "switch the switch" is a weird statement, in part because we have just gone into some length about how there are two different switches one can switch to enable Do Not Disturb.https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-user-docs/-/issues/182GNOME 44 quick settings updates (bluetooth, background apps)2024-02-09T22:11:37ZAllan DayGNOME 44 quick settings updates (bluetooth, background apps)`shell-introduction` and `shell-exit` include details about the quick settings menu (aka system status menu, aka system menu). Specific notable changes:
* Subtitles added to each button - https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-shell/-/issues/5770
* A new bluetooth menu has been added - https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-shell/-/merge_requests/2501
* There's a new item for background apps down at the bottom - https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-shell/-/merge_requests/2624
The background apps menu might deserve some attention:
* It lists Flatpaks which are running without a visible window.
* The goal is to allow people to check if a particular app is running, plus to provide information on what's happening on the system.
* Users can prevent individual apps from running in the background, from the app settings.GNOME 44https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-user-docs/-/issues/167Documentation for compose key points to the wrong place2023-02-04T16:20:32ZMichael NelsonDocumentation for compose key points to the wrong place[Enter special characters](https://help.gnome.org/users/gnome-help/stable/tips-specialchars.html.en)

The note, "If no tablet is detected, you’ll be asked to Please plug in or turn on your Wacom tablet. Click the Bluetooth Settings link to connect a wireless tablet" may no longer be valid. If the tablet is not detected, the panel does not appear.
I'm testing with GNOME 41.2 because 42 beta in Boxes flatpak has no way of communicating with the tablet. The design mockups show everything in one scrollable panel rather than two selected with top bar buttons.
