Application menu switch doesn't work with gnome-shell 3.31+

Application menu switch doesn't work on gnome 3.31 (application menu was depreciated). If gnome-shell developers will add an option to disable new application menu (gnome-shell#1003 (closed)), adjustments will be needed, otherwise, switch should be dropped.
