Animations appear again with animation toggle after session restart
NOTE: PLEASE CHECK THE EOF FOR UPDATE
Description: (ORIGINAL BUG) When animations are disabled via tweaks, and certain apps (ex. Microsoft edge, Nautilus, Firefox) are opened henceforth, animations are disabled in such apps, which is intended behaviour. However, after restarting session, with the animations still disabled, the animations in the aforementioned apps start again.
Steps to reproduce bug:
- Disable animation via tweaks.
- Open Nautilus (or any app where animations are controllable, ex Firefox)
- Check and confirm that animations are indeed disabled (eg with Nautilus's hamburger drop down menu, Firefox new tab animation)
- Restart session.
- Confirm that animations are still disabled in tweaks.
- Open the same app, and observe that animations are enabled there again.
System specs:
- CPU: Intel i5 5200u
- GPU: Nvidia Gefore 830M
- OS: Fedora 33/34
- Gnome shell version: 3.38/40.0
UPDATE: I don't know after which update this was, but system-wide animations are re-enabled after a session suspend/logoff. The actual option itself turns back itself on. So animations need to be disabled every single time.
