Bring back dark mode toggle, or at least don't mess around it everytime user changes theme
I have long heard gnome people are a bunch of retards yet your level of retardness still amazes me.
I have read this pile of bullshit and all your reasoning is this feature doesn't work sometime. What a persuasive argument! By that logic the whole GNOME project should cease to exist in the next major release.
I know you guys don't have such a person called UX designer so all you can rely on is the instinct of your not well-functioning brain but how hard it is not to deliberately breaks some functioning feature? Many themes, as you're constantly breaking things, are long abandoned and won't get any update until the end of time. And then you mercifully give them a whole half of year to migrate or they won't work as intended all the time.
What's funnier is that for a change with huge impact, all that documentation is in one of your guy's personal blog and the api isn't even marked as deprecated or get any warning, so everyone google
GNOME dark mode and they will get what exactly is happening in GNOME, just except that some dude choose to overwrite it at some time.
Further more, as of today the major two desktop system support light/dark mode switch, many cross platform applications such as browsers need to know it to blend in. Especially browsers who even has a api for webpage to query. And guess what? In Linux they choose to rely on
gtk-application-prefer-dark-theme as their base. So, this trending api which getting used in many popular sites like https://overreacted.io/ and functioning well in many systems, becomes completely useless just under GNOME just because some maintainer feels like it. Your guys had supported the possibility of this api for so many years and abandoned it like it's totally useless. What a unique achievement! So I feels like to write this to congratulate and to express my respect for this insightful action.
