allow gnome-terminal-nautilus to open up a new tab instead of a window
Every time I right click in a Nautilus and choose Open in Terminal
, it opens up a new gnome-terminal window. Because I do that often, and because I can't merge multiple terminal windows into a single one, I end up with way too many separate terminal windows opened. I'd love to use a single window with tabs, but then I'd have to use cd
and re-type the whole path every time and right clicking in Nautilus is just so convenient.
Lately, I discovered an option in gnome-terminal preferences called Open new terminals in: Window/Tab
:
I hoped this would allow me to open new tabs from Nautilus, but it had no effect. (I don't know whether that option is supposed to affect that, but I found it logical - because I found no other place where this would have any effect).
Can you please make gnome-terminal-nautilus honor that option and open a window or a tab based on user preferences? Alternatively, this could be a separate option hidden just somewhere in gsettings, I don't really mind - I'd just love to be able to open terminals from nautilus as tabs.
Thank you!
