gnome-terminal-preferences shows as gnome-terminal-preferences without icon
Now that gnome-terminal-preferences is its own app, I think it needs a .desktop file so that it has an app icon and name.
You could use the gnome-terminal app icon for now in the .desktop but I think you'd want to have a unique app icon so that it can be distinguished from GNOME Terminal itself.
You can use NoDisplay=true
in the .desktop if you want to hide it from the system Activities Overview or app menus.
Test Case
- Open the Terminal app
- Click ☰ and choose Preferences
- The Preferences dialog launches but the system identifies it with the name
gnome-terminal-preferences
and uses the generic app icon
