Distribution: Solaris 9 8/03 s9x_u4wos_08b x86 Package: gnome-terminal Severity: normal Version: GNOME2.3.90 unspecified Gnome-Distributor: GNOME.Org Synopsis: gnome-terminal --help outputs garbled strings Bugzilla-Product: gnome-terminal Bugzilla-Component: general Bugzilla-Version: unspecified Description: Description of Problem: As reported by in gnome-i18n list (see below), bind_text_domain_codeset() must be called after gnome_program_init(), so that --help strings should be printed to the stdout in the current locale's encoding.
Steps to reproduce the problem:
- Run gnome-terminal --help in non UTF-8 locales.
- See the help messages for gnome-terminal options are not shown correctly.
How often does this happen? Always.
