Feature Request: Automatically open "same-named" video
Hi!
I've found this to be a great tool so far, but missing a few simple features that perhaps could make it much better!
One of those features is "auto-opening" of video files when one opens an SRT file (from outside the tool). For instance: if the user invokes:
$ gnome-subtitles my-favorite-movie.es.srt
The tool should search for any other files named 'my-favorite-movie.*', and perhaps apply the following logic:
- Eliminate all files that end in .srt, .ass, etc - (all known subtitle extensions)
- Leave only files with a "known" video extension (avi, mp4, mkv, mpg/mpeg, flv, etc..)
- If there's only one file left, attempt to open it as the associated video.
- If there are more than one file, present the options to the user in a quick dialog (i.e. "We found these videos - which one would you like to auto-open?"
Thanks!
