Auto Install LangPack-xx (meta-package)
Currently installation of language pack meta-package (localization support) is manual. So, it's two steps for user:
- select language and logoff-login
- install respective language pack.
Idea is to automate the second step. After discussions we determined that gnome-software seems the best place to do installation of the langpacks-XX package for new users.
Auto installation of LangPack-xx (meta-package) once user log into Japanese or French etc.
langpack plugin sundeep/gnome-software!2 the plugin locates active locale, looks for appropriate langpack-xx and tries to add langpack-xx in next update set.
update monitoring !196 A piece of code in update monitoring determines active locale and searches for appropriate langpack. If found, tries to install it (if not already) and notify user. There is a setting to turn this off.
Need discussions to finalize on approach/method. (Planning to refine implementation accordingly)
