Description
Steps to reproduce:
- download or create a file with a mime type unknown to your gnome-software package database. On Fedora you can download a 3DMF file from http://www.artifice.com/3d_gallery/Maybeck_Studio-night.3dmf.sit
- try to open this file (e.g. from nautilus). Now file-roller will try to open the file, displaying an error message:
Could not open this file type
There is no command installed for StuffIt archive files. Do you want to search for a command to open this file?
[Cancel] [Search Command]
- press [Search Command]. Now gnome-software will open a window:
Unable to Find Requested Software
(sad smiley)
Unfortunately, the unstaff you were searching for could not be found. Please see this website</a>
for more information.
This is misleading: The English text shown in gnome-software should be different because it is unclear what "unstaff" is. I think the first sentence should be improved to something like this:
"Unable to find the application »unstaff« for opening files with MIME type »application/x-stuffit«."
Furthermore there is no indication which application requested this support. The sentence above could be improved to:
"The application »Files« needs support for MIME type »application/x-stuffit«. This support is provided by another application, »unstaff«, which could not be found."
