Poor discoverability of search
Filing here per advice from Launchpad.
I wanted to install a new package. Launched Ubuntu Software and... how do I search for anything?
Search is a key function. It should be front and center. I couldn't see it.
That was annoying enough that I wanted to file a bug against it. In the process I did notice the lens icon in the top left, but that wasn't easily discoverable at all, at lease for me? There's usually nothing in the top-left corner windows, so I never look there. That's a place for window-related contextual actions, at best, not for key actions like searching for a package.
As an inspiration, take for example Spotify. On its landing page, it shows albums (corresponding to packages and package categories in Ubuntu Software), but search is also prominent, not an afterthought in a corner.
