After update to Fedora 27: "No such metadata object"

Submitted by rugk @rugk

Link to original bug (#790467)

Description

After upgrading to Fedora 27 I regularly get a strange error message when refreshing the update list in GNOME-Software.

First: The update actually works. As far as I see everything I expect is updated, respectively updates for it are suggested/shown.

You can see the error in the screenshot. It is not really helpful and basically only contains a long ID/string and ".commit". And the title "No such metadata object". For me as a user that says nothing, so far about the UX aspect here.

I use these software uses:

  • many official software from Fedora
  • RPM Fusion
  • some flatpaks (mostly FlatHub and Firefox)
  • some copr
