Constant CPU usage while idle (GTK spinners or other progress indicators?)
Tested with GNOME Software 44.0 from Fedora 38.
After launching the app, I went into the "Updates" tab and let it sit there, doing nothing after it refreshed to check what updates are available... and I saw constant CPU usage (15-20%+ on my ThinkPad X220 on Xorg).
I suspect it might be the same thing as all these issues elsewhere:
- gnome-calendar#971 (closed)
- https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/fractal/-/issues/1173
- World/Shortwave#690 (closed)
- etc.
... i.e. GTK spinner widgets that are not stopped from spinning when they are hidden? Maybe the pulsating progressbars in buttons and elsewhere, too?
Here's some sysprof output: gnome-software-44-idle_sysprof_syscap.tar.xz
