Consider removing the ability to clear calendar events recieved from Evolution.
I would like to suggest removing the ability to clear calendar events received from Evolution. The calendar events are shown in the calendar in the gnome-shell message tray.
The rationale is that:
-
It doesn't work as expected in all cases. Depending on how the appointment/event is configured as recurring, gnome-shell will not show future instances.
-
They aren't marked as completed or deleted from evolution. Instead they are simply hidden on gnome-shell's side only. This is confusing because a user may think they are deleted especially in single-occurrence calendar items giving the illusion that something is broken or not working as expected.
-
There is no way apart from manually deleting "/home/hussam/.local/share/gnome-shell/ignored_events" to show some future events again.
Note that for timed events/appointments, evolution pushes a desktop notification that appears in the message tray. This reduces the need to interact with the calendar itself since clicking on the notification should assume I read it.
