Massive memory usage when using built-in screen record feature
If I press CTRL + ALT + SHIFT + R
to start screen recording, the memory usage of gnome-shell increases dramatically.
After a ten second video, it was up to 7.9 GiB according to System Monitor. After screen recording it drops to 1.1 GiB, which is significantly lower than during recording, but still significantly more than before recording, at which point it typically hovers around 200 MiB.
GNOME 3.28, Xorg, Arch Linux.
