First appearance of password prompt (for e.g. ssh passphrase input) often fails to accept correct input
This is with GNOME Shell 3.33.90 in current Fedora 31. It's been happening for a while but I didn't get around to reporting it.
I see this happen pretty much any time I start a new session:
- I need to update a git checkout or something, I run
git pull
, it prompts me for the passphrase for the ssh key needed for the repo, I hit esc to cancel as I don't have it in the clipboard - I copy the passphrase to my clipboard from my password manager
- I run
git pull
again, and paste the passphrase (with ctrl-v): GNOME tells me it's wrong - I try pasting again, still 'wrong'
- I hit esc to cancel the dialog again, and run
git pull
again - I paste the passphrase again - exact same passphrase, still in the clipboard - and it works this time
There is occasionally a variant where I actually remember to copy the passphrase before I run git pull
for the first time...but I think the bug often still happens in that case.
