shellEntry: Show/Hide Text triggers warnings about calling clutter_actor_queue_relayout() within an allocation cycle
I saw the following message when I toggle "Show Text
/ Hide Text
" of shellEntry.
Jul 12 13:40:02 localhost.localdomain gnome-shell[1636]: The actor '<unnamed>[<Gjs_BoxPointer>:0x39b7d30]' is currently inside an allocation cycle; calling clutter_actor_queue_relayout() is not recommended
Jul 12 13:40:02 localhost.localdomain gnome-shell[1636]: The actor '<uiGroup>[<Gjs_UiActor>:0x1fd08f0]' is currently inside an allocation cycle; calling clutter_actor_queue_relayout() is not recommended
I can reproduce on master branch. However, my master is a bit old.
Current HEADs for gnome-shell and mutter on my system are:
gnome-shell : commit : 6d4b9d29
mutter : commit : 329c4bc5 (tagged as 3.33.1
)
Steps to reproduce:
- Use a dialog which uses shellEntry (I used a polkit auth dialog)
- Type something as password (seris of
⚫ should appear) - Right click on the
⚫ s and chooseShow Text
- Regular version of the text should be shown, denoting what you typed.
- Toggle to
Hide Text
. Again⚫ s should appear - Check journalctl for the above pasted warning.
