Display sleeping / system enters suspend when switching users
Sorry in advance if this is not the correct place to log this.
Issue summary: When switching users in Gnome, the display goes to sleep twice. Once when clicking 'switch user' from the dropdown or 'Log in as another user' and again once the 'other' user logs in. The screen must be manually woken up by moving the mouse or pressing a key on the keyboard.
To reproduce:
- Set up two users, a and b.
- Login as user a
- Switch user (note that the login screen should display immediately at this point)
- Login as user b
- Wait for a period of time greater than the default display sleep period (eg. 5 minutes?) - this step is important
- Select one of the switch user options
- This will take you back to the GDM login screen, but the display should be blank until woken up manually
- Login as user a
- This will restore user a's session, but the display will again be blank until woken up immediately
Note that the bug only appears to surface once the default display timeout has had time to kick in. The above behaviour indicates that the bug is experienced twice - once for the GDM 'user' and once for the user who has previously logged in.
Also note that when sleep/suspend is enabled and the above actions are performed, the computer actually enters suspend twice! Once at step 7 (assuming suspend is enabled for the 'gdm' user) and again at step 9 (assuming suspend is enabled for user a).
