Overview corner hotspot is not recognised if cursor slides to it along top of screen on a right-to-left wayland session
OS: Ubuntu Lunar (23.04) Affected Gnome Shell version: 44.0, experienced on prior versions as well Session: exclusive to Wayland (no problem on XOrg) Happens without extensions: Yes
Bug summary
On Ubuntu Wayland session, using RTL locale (Hebrew), when sliding the cursor along the top (horizontal) edge of the screen to the hotspot at the top right corner of the screen (where the activities menu is found in an rtl environment), gnome-shell does not go into overview mode (and back). Only when sliding the cursor to the very same hotspot along the right (vertical) edge of the screen, gnome-shell works properly and goes to overview mode (and back).
Steps to reproduce
- Set your interface to Hebrew (or another rtl language, such as Arabic).
- Start a new gnome wayland session.
- Move your cursor to the top of the screen.
- Slide the cursor to the right along the top of screen until you reach the פעילויות (acrtivities) hotspot at the top right corner of the screen.
What happened
Gnome-Shell does not change into overview mode.
What did you expect to happen
Gnome-Shell should have change ito overview mode.
Relevant data
I use nvidia-525 driver, but I don't think it has anything to do with it. Note that if you take your cursor to the right edge of the screen and slide it up to the hotspot, it does work and Gnome-Shell does change into overview mode.
