Screen not turning off properly after manual screen lock
Affected version
Fedora 37 workstation edition. Gnome 43.2 wayland session. Laptop built in monitor (eDP-1 so probably a display port of some sort).
Bug summary
If the screen blank option is set to a certain timeout, it works fine, but if you manually lock the screen it doesn't work properly.
Steps to reproduce
- set a time-out for the screen blank (mine is 15 m).
- manually lock the screen from the quick settings panel.
- wait for the screen to turn off.
What happened
It shows a blank screen, but the backlight doesn't turn off, making the laptop a giant flashlight.
What did you expect to happen
the screen turns off like it does if it was left to lock on its own.
