[42.0] Input Sources indicator disappears after lockscreen
Affected version
- Fedora Linux 36 Workstation
- gnome-shell 42.0
- Wayland only
Bug summary
Input Source indicator disappears after locking and unlocking with password.
Steps to reproduce
- login to Gnome Wayland session (gnome-shell 42.0)
- add an input method (eg Japanese Anthy or Chinese Libpinyin)
- start an application like gnome-terminal or text editor
- observe the Input Source indicator in the shell panel
- lock the screen
- unlock the screen
What happened
After unlocking the Input Source indicator is gone (in fact it disappeared with the lockscreen password prompt as expected). Input method input also stops.
What did you expect to happen
When the app regains focus the Input Source indicator should be visible.
Relevant logs, screenshots, screencasts etc.
Workaround is to click on the application to enforce focus and the Input Source indicator reappears with the previous input source set. Input method works again normally.
