Gnome3 is garbage and must be rewritten from scratch
I'm using Linux for about 11 years and never experienced such an awful situation where one of the most
critical piece of software for any everyday workstation , the desktop manager is such a crap with full of bugs.
Gnome3 is a disaster, it's even worst that Windows Vista in my honest opinion, it's a big failure.
First of all, I have 8 gigs of RAM and if I start Firefox and open some tabs I get like 43-44% RAM usage.
My CPU is bouncing between 45% on an idle basis. If I move my mouse around I get like 1015%. If I switch windows I get 38~43%.
I tried to strace the gnome-shell and got 200 network error calls (recvmsg(34, {msg_namelen=0}, 0) = -1 EAGAIN (Resource temporarily unavailable)
) in every 10 seconds and the only bug I'm getting from the systemd logs is libinput error: client bug: timer event4 debounce short: offset negative
. Everything else *seems* to work properly.
First of all why gnome-shell is calling so many network requests like it's some kind of a malware? Secondly, why I don't get enough logs to actually fix the problem without spending 6 months of research on various fields and completely understand how the whole codebase works. Thirdly, why you released a buggy, nightly version of gnome and made it stable without spending twice the workload on debugging instead of just programming? Fourthly, next time you consider writing code to any open source project just to get referenced in a job interview, think twice before you contribute even a single line of code. Lastly, if you think I'm just offending your programming capabilities then go ahead and delete this post but remember that in the end, I'm just a user...The same message goes to every other company or organization, it's not personal.
