Unfuck WIFI Applet
The Gnome WIFI Applet is straight from usability hell. I have never ever seen anybody mange to create a WIFI network selection interface, which needs more clicks to accomplish this trivial tasks.
Christ, even Microsoft managed to provide a more straight forward interface and that must mean something, because since they introduced their Windows 7/10 config tools nightmare, they are clearly top of class in fucking things up!
Please, please, please get somebody to design the WIFI network selection interface, who actually knows, what they are doing usability wise. This is just embarrassing. I thought after lessons learned from PalmPilot back in the day everybody had understood that less necessary clicks for any given task means better usability.
A thing or two can be learned from macOS as well.
But with Gnome it is really, really bad and if anything it is getting worse with any change made to the interface.
Please excuse the strong language in the title, but I presume I have not been the only one trying to point out the obvious design flaws in this interface over the last couple of years, but it seems these complaints have gone unnoticed so far. Maybe the strong title helps to highlight this embarrassing issue and finally gets this abomination fixed once and for all.
My best regards Markus
