Gnome 40 sleep issue (BUG!)
Affected version
Void Linux musl (latest) Gnome Shell 40.0 Both wayland and Xorg
Bug summary
When Gnome automatically sleeps, it doesn't wake up properly. It will suspend, turn on, then the screen will be completely black. Ctrl+Alt+F7 can get back to a NEW GDM session.
Steps to reproduce
- Install Gnome 40.0 Musl build
- Suspend
- Wake up
What happened
It is unexpected that the screen would just turn black.
What did you expect to happen
For the screen to show a lock screen after it wakes up, just like in Gnome 3.38
Relevant logs, screenshots, screencasts etc.
The void linux github has an issue: https://github.com/void-linux/void-packages/issues/30196 The issue seems to affect many laptops, primarily thinkpads, on that thread there are 2 thinkpad X230's, a thinkpad X1 and others.
There are no screenshots or anything as the screen is just black.
On the github thread, it seems that it only affects Musl libc builds. (Not a good way to measure though, Void releases musl and glibc builds, people may gravitate towards Void FOR its musl) I should also add, on my Thinkpad X230, the backlight doesn't even turn on.
