Remember the last position of the application on the next startup
The state of Gnome Shell on Wayland in February 2021 is that when I open an application, it remembers the size, but not the last position when I closed it.
So, if I reopen a window that was maximized, everything is the same. But if I have specific apps not maximized placed in some positions, when I close and reopen them, they are placed one after another from the left to the right. I'd like to see them where I closed them.
I know this is due to Wayland, but I'm surprised there's no issue opened on this feature that should be basic for every desktop environment. Maybe I didn't search well, but I'd like to know if there's a road map to implement this feature. If it's something to be handled by mutter, or gnome-shell has to register a configuration for every application to save the last position and restore it on the startup.
Or should be something provided by the application itself. I was looking that Geany has an option like Save Window Position
, but I assume it works only in Xorg.
Thanks for any clarification.
